JEDDAH: A total of 396 awards, jubilant students and an auditorium reverberating with the applause of proud parents and teachers defined the 46th Annual Prize Day of IIS Jeddah.
International Indian School, Jeddah celebrated the excellent results of students who sat for AISSCE XII and AISSE X exams conducted by CBSE in March 2015 by awarding the toppers. Meritorious students of classes six to nine along with the Gulf Board toppers were also given awards by the dignitaries.
IISJ holds an academic track record of 100 percent result in CBSE exams.
Consul General of India B.S. Mubarak was the chief guest of the day. His wife Lathifa Mubarak was also present.
Tarek Mishkhas, editor in chief of Urdu News and Malayalam News, was the guest of honor. Consul (Education) Mohammed Raghib Qureshi, Higher Board member Hasan Ghias, Managing Committee Chairman Mohammed Abdul Raziq Abdul Vahid and members of the managing committee attended the program.
In his keynote speech, Mubarak congratulated the academic toppers and highlighted the importance of life skills in today’s world. He said students should focus on creativity and innovation to be successful in life. He advised students to develop a passion for gaining knowledge and skills in order to climb the ladder of success.
“Whatever you do — give your best,” he said and added that in today’s world a teacher is gauged on the basis of their students’ academic excellence.
Mishkhas appreciated the excellent result of IISJ and advised the students to learn how to overcome new challenges. “Let nothing hold you back,” he said.
Qureshi said it was heartening to note that IISJ had produced 100 percent result in AISSCC XII exams for the fifth consecutive year and attributed the success to the cumulative efforts of students, support of parents and guidance of teachers.
Ghias shared his life experiences and listed the key factors for a successful career. He advised students to set goals beyond their reach and stretch out to achieve that dream.
Abdul Vahid appreciated the efforts of teachers in molding students and guiding them to achieve excellent results. He thanked the diplomatic staff for their support and the dedicated services of the managing committee members.
Principal Syed Masood Ahmed welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report. He informed the audience about the various activities and achievements of the school in the academic year 2014-15. He highlighted the managing committee’s efforts in purchasing new buses and revision of staff salaries.
The school toppers were: Kristin Davis (96.2 percent) bagged the overall first position in AISSC exam (XII) and Hasan secured the second position (96 percent) followed by Ulfat Rehman third position (95.8 percent)
Five teachers who completed 25 years of services were felicitated during the celebrations. Vice Principal Najeeb Qais presented a vote of thanks.
